What was your experience with MSU Law?
MSU College of Law fosters a friendly environment for students. While the first year of law school is intimidating, it's manageable because students are always willing to help one another by sharing outlines, talking through class materials, and forming study groups. Professors like Professors Johnson and Bean are in their offices 24/7, and couldn't be happier to help a student struggling with a concept from class.

How did extracurricular activities influence your success?
I was a member of the International Law Review and the Trial Practice Institute Program. Being on the International Law Review greatly improved my research skills and also showed future employers I am a capable writer. As someone who was terrified of public speaking, the Trial Practice Institute Program really helped improve my oral advocacy skills, which prepared me for job interviews.

What advice would you offer to those thinking about a career in law?
If you don't get into a top 10 school, I would go to the school that gives you the largest scholarship. Really focus on your grades and make sure you do well, especially in your first year, or your job prospects will be limited come your 3L year.

Is there any additional insight you would like to share?
Remember to have fun! You'll never get through law school if your head is always buried in a book. Be a nice person. The law profession is service oriented, so word of mouth could really help, or hurt, your career.
