“I knew I wanted to work in a corporate setting with a Fortune 100 company and find a career that allowed me to be in a business management role while utilizing my legal skill set. The JD/MBA opened up career opportunities that met that goal.”

Keith Voorheis chose MSU College of Law because he appreciates the value of a global brand. "Nearly half a million Spartans live and work across the globe. As a student at Michigan State University College of Law, you can leverage this alumni base to meet your career development goals," he said.

During his time at MSU College of Law, Keith developed great relationships with his professors. "I often leveraged their experience and insight with questions about course material and career development," he said. "In particular, Professor Bruce Bean has been an important mentor as I pursue my career in the energy business. My classmates have also been an integral part of my success, as I have developed lifelong friendships and met my fianceé while studying here."

In addition to his experiences at the law college, Keith said pursuing MSU's joint JD/MBA was one of the best decisions he ever made. "I knew I wanted to work in a corporate setting with a Fortune 100 company and find a career that allowed me to be in a business management role while utilizing my legal skill set. The JD/MBA opened up career opportunities that met that goal,"Keith said. "I have spent the past two summers with Chevron working in their global procurement/supply chain group. I spent the summer of 2012 in San Ramon, CA, at the company headquarters, and the summer of 2013 in Luanda, Angola, with Chevron’s South African Strategic Business Unit. Both experiences have challenged me to apply the skills and knowledge I developed in the JD/MBA program."
