Meet the Team

Theresa Allen, Admissions Application Coordinator

Theresa Allen Ms. Allen coordinates and manages the processing of all J.D. applications for the Office of Admissions. She works closely with the Assistant Dean and members of the Admissions Committee to ensure that applications are reviewed in a timely manner. She also is responsible for the preparation of admission decision letters and reports. Ms. Allen has been a member of the Admissions staff since 2000.

John Garcia, Director of Financial Aid

John Garcia Mr. Garcia has worked in financial aid since 1995, becoming Director of Financial Aid at MSU College of Law in 2005. In addition to counseling both prospective and continuing students and their families regarding financial aid options, he certifies students' loan eligibility, coordinates the packaging of aid for law students, participates in the establishment of the student budget, and frequently presents on the topic of financing an MSU legal education. Mr. Garcia regularly presents at conferences for financial aid professionals and has served on committees for the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the Access Group.   He earned his undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University and a Master of Arts degree at Michigan State University.

Courtney Gabbara, Associate Director of Admissions

Courtney Gabbara Ms. Gabbara assists prospective students during each phase of the enrollment process, from their freshmen year through their acceptance to the Law College.  In addition to representing the Law College at law fairs throughout the country, she coordinates the involvement of alumni for the Admissions Office and has responsibility for transfer admissions.  She also works closely with the Student Ambassador program.  As a law student, Ms. Gabbara served as a clinician in the Housing Clinic, interned with the Office of Attorney General, and externed with the Federal Public Defender's Office. She also was actively involved in a number of student organizations at the Law College, serving as President of the Women's Law Caucus, Vice Justice of Phi Alpha Delta, and Treasurer of the Middle Eastern Student Association.  Ms. Gabbara is a 2012 MSU Law graduate, is licensed to practice in Michigan, and is a 2009 graduate of MSU.

Geoffrey Leskie, Assistant Director of Admissions

Geoff LeskieMr. Leskie assists prospective students who are exploring and planning for law school, from counseling freshmen to assisting candidates who have been offered admission.  As assistant director, he coordinates the office's webinar programs, assists with on-campus visit programs, works closely with the student ambassadors, and regularly speaks at college campuses.  Mr. Leskie received his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law, and he is licensed to practice in both Michigan and Florida.  He is completing a graduate degree in pharmacology and toxicology at MSU and plans to take the patent bar exam.  As a law student, he enrolled in the Intellectual Property Start-Up Project and clerked for the MSU Office of General Counsel. 

Charles Roboski, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid

Charles RoboskiDean Charles Roboski provides overall leadership for the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid and the Law College's Communications Office. As chief admissions officer, he works closely with the Faculty Admissions Committee in establishing and implementing the Law College's admissions and scholarship policies.  He assists prospective students who are exploring law as a career and coordinates many of the office's on-campus and virtual programs for prospective students.  Dean Roboski joined the MSU Law administration in 2008 and has served as a dean or director of law admissions since 1988, during which time he has reviewed more than 45,000 applications for admission.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Dominican University, a Master of Arts from Georgetown University, and an MBA from the University of Dayton.

Kimberly Wilkes, Admissions Coordinator

wilkes_kMs. Wilkes assists prospective students during all phases of the application process. In addition to offering general information regarding admissions issues, she arranges individual visits to the Law College, assists with the hosting of admissions events, works closely with the Student Ambassadors program, and coordinates the Roommate Clearinghouse service. A lifelong Michigan resident, Ms. Wilkes has earned two bachelor degrees from Michigan State University and is a Certified Meeting Professional.  Prior to joining the Admissions Office, she worked in marketing and event management.
