Tax Clinic Faculty
Professor Joshua Wease, Director
Before coming to MSU College of Law, Professor Wease was a tax attorney in practice for nine years. He started his legal career as an Equal Justice Works Public Interest Law Fellow at MSU Law’s Alvin L. Storrs Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. He was a Senior Attorney with the Midwest law firm of Foster Swift, Collins & Smith and was a partner in Wease Halloran, a boutique tax law firm, for almost five years.
As an assistant clinical professor at the Tax Clinic, he is responsible for the general operations and management of the clinic, which serves low-income clients and taxpayers for whom English is a second language, and provides MSU Law students with hands-on experience practicing tax law.
Professor Wease graduated cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law and received his LLM in trial advocacy from the Beasley School of Law at Temple University. He is admitted to practice in: Michigan; United States Tax Court; Western District of Michigan; Eastern District of Michigan; and U.S. Supreme Court. Christina Thompson, Supervising Attorney
Christina was a Public Interest Fellow at the Tax Clinic from August 2012 to June 2015. As a supervising attorney, Christina assists with supervision of second- and third-year law students, organizes outreach events, and oversees the students’ work in managing their client case files.
Christina graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in spring 2012. During her time as a law student, she participated in the Tax Clinic for two years. She is admitted to practice in Michigan and the United States Tax Court and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section and Michigan Women’s Tax Association.
