MSU College of Law

Intellectual Property Law Summer Institute (Rijeka and Dubrovnik, Croatia)

July 11 - July 29, 2016

Optional Cruise to Dalmatia and Dubrovnik: July 30 - Aug. 6, 2016

Building on MSU Law’s nationally recognized Intellectual Property, Information & Communications Law (IPIC) Program, the Institute examines the challenges of establishing new intellectual property regimes in integrating economies, such as Croatia’s. American and Croatian students explore copyright, patent, and cyberlaw from an international perspective in Opatija, a seaside resort suburb of Rijeka.  Classes will be held at the University of Rijeka’s School of Tourism and Hospitality, a 19th century villa on the beach.  Opatija is within day trips of Venice, Italy, Lubljana, Slovenia, and of course the world class beaches of the Northern Adriatic.  There will be an optional cruise through Dalmatia to the fabled city of Dubrovnik.
