"The law college provides ample opportunities to learn applicable, real life skills."

Darren Fernandez provides legal and policy analysis for Commission reports examining the civil rights implications surrounding federal laws and policies. For him, the most rewarding aspect of the job is the opportunity to serve his country.

Darren said the MSU Housing Clinic helped prepare him for his legal career. “I also really enjoyed my courses with Professors Pucillo and Lawrence,” he said. In addition, Darren studied mediation techniques under Professor Pappas during law school.

“The law college provides ample opportunities to learn applicable, real life skills,” he said. “If I could advise incoming students about one thing, I’d suggest that they keep a balanced lifestyle. Employers want someone they can get along with.”
