“I really enjoyed my business law and corporate finance classes and decided to invest in a long term benefit of having a law degree.”

Jonathan Fowler chose MSU Law for its reputation and extensive academic opportunities. “MSU Law has many programs--the dual JD US & Canada program, the dual JD/MBA program, numerous clinics, a leading Native Law program, and a strong, balanced curriculum of required classes,” Jonathan said. “Career Services also pushes students to get real experience through internships, and provides strong resources for students.”

Jonathan is pursuing a joint JD/MBA. “I really enjoyed my business law and corporate finance classes and decided to invest in a long term benefit of having a law degree,” he said.

Jonathan also participated in the Ottawa summer study abroad program, which places students in working externships to gain experience and earn credits toward their degree. “I was placed in the Library of Parliament (Canadian equivalent of the U.S. Library of Congress) where I was a U.S. law expert and worked on several research requests from government officials and a general publication of the Library of Parliament summarizing U.S. Federal election campaign contribution laws,” he said. “The experience helped me experience a work environment with multiple projects, group work, deadlines, and being the most knowledgeable about the work I am doing for co-workers or clients.”
