At MSU Law, Ashley Gutwein feels that she’s not just a number. “Each professor is committed to ensuring that their students succeed,” she said. “MSU Law provides a stimulating academic environment and extracurricular activities to help students achieve a balanced lifestyle.”  

As a 1L student, Ashley found it difficult to navigate the library and to access the appropriate study aides. “However, the MSU Law Library staff provided the direction to ensure I obtained all the necessary materials,” she said. “Without the help and guidance of the library staff, I would have spent a significant amount of money on study aides that were accessible free of charge.”

Ashley served as the finance director for the SBA. “While running for a leadership position was intimidating, the benefits of the position exceeded my expectations,” she said. “I worked directly with numerous MSU Law faculty members and the leaders of the student organizations. Most importantly, I helped to represent the best interests of all MSU Law students. Serving as the finance director forced me out of my comfort zone and prepared me to excel professionally well after graduation.”
