What is your experience with MSU Law?
The Law College’s strength is the availability of the faculty, both during and outside their office hours. All of them have been extremely responsive and great to work with, and it’s been a great help to me. The faculty is really open to talking to you outside the classroom, as a future colleague, not just as a law student. 

Describe your relationship with fellow classmates and faculty.
I have a great working relationship with current students, faculty, and staff. Many people in my classes will put up posts on our class’ Facebook pages announcing study sessions, so a big group of us get together, share notes, and review so everyone is clear about the material. Similarly, the faculty will meet outside of class and hold extra review sessions so everyone can understand what was learned all semester. 

Describe your experience in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute (TPI) program. 
TPI has been a great experience. The first year of TPI (2L year) you focus on pretrial. This means we learned how to write motion, argue these motions in front of a judge, and mediate and facilitate contract disputes. This is first-hand experience I would not have gotten anywhere else, and it has proved immensely useful for my job search and externships. 

Tell us about your involvement in the Student Bar Association, Tax Law Society, and Family Law Society. How has participation in these organizations contributed to your education or employment? 
I am Community Affairs Director for the Student Bar Association. As an Executive Board, I help run the events and affairs of the SBA behind the scenes. I am the public relations chair for the Tax Law Society and a general member of the Family Law Society. All three experiences have enriched my law school curriculum. Employers like to see you are interested in these organizations, since they will require you to be part of specific entities as well. The organizations have also given me numerous networking opportunities I would not have gotten elsewhere. 

What does the MSU name mean for your legal education? 
The boss at my current externship here in Sonoma County, California, knew exactly where and what Michigan State University was, and the quality education it stood for. It has definitely helped me in my pursuit for a job.
