“There are diverse opportunities to pursue your interests through academics and organizations.”

Leah Hurvitz chose MSU College of Law for its distinctive environment. “As an undergrad at MSU, I fell in love with the campus and Spartan student body,” she said. “The law school allows me to be in that environment while gaining unique experiences. The community is very welcoming too. The professors have open door policies, and there are diverse opportunities to pursue your interests through academics and organizations.”

Extracurricular activities were a rewarding part of Leah’s law school experience. “Through being involved in Jewish Legal Society, I have been able to connect with students and alumni who share similar values,” she said. “Being involved in International Law Review has allowed me to improve my legal research, writing, and analysis skills. Many potential employers look for students who have demonstrated an ability to perform legal research and writing. Being involved in these organizations has helped me meet with potential employers because of the skills each of these programs has instilled in me.”

In addition to the variety of activities offered, Leah appreciates the Academic Success Program initiatives. “The program put on informative sessions throughout the first semester of law school that helped me learn how to do well in law school,” Leah said. “These sessions helped me understand how to outline for classes and take exams.”
