"It was not until after I attended the Admitted Candidate Visit Program that I fell in love with MSU Law. In addition to the renowned reputation of MSU Law, I was impressed by the personalization and dedication of the staff.”

Whitney (LeMieux) Jurado was born in Michigan and lived here most of her life. “I went to Michigan State for undergrad and moved to Los Angeles after graduation where I worked as a paralegal and office manager for a medium-sized consumer protection law firm,” she said.

“I received my bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University, so I already knew that I loved the environment of the campus,” Whitney said. “But it was not until after I attended the Admitted Candidate Visit Program that I fell in love with MSU Law. In addition to the renowned reputation of MSU Law, I was impressed by the personalization and dedication of the staff. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. I really got a feel for MSU Law and what to expect as a law student. Attending the program is what helped me make my decision to attend MSU.”

To prepare for the LSAT, Whitney took a prep course and studied every night for three to four hours after work and approximately six to eight hours every Saturday and Sunday for several months. “I believe that my time as a James Madison College student at MSU prepared me for the extensive course load that I will be challenged with as a law school student,” she said. “In undergrad, I was exposed to vast amounts of reading and rigorous schoolwork.”
