“MSU Law excels at personalized experiences for all students through staff and faculty,” said Sarah (Warpinski) Ladd. “As a student with a very specific passion in an emerging area of the law, the faculty and staff assisted enthusiastically with new research, publication, community engagement, unique internships, and starting a new student organization.” Sarah also appreciated the MSU Law clinical program, as her two semesters at the Immigration Clinic led to an outstanding internship and a Skadden Fellowship.

Sarah founded and led the Modern Abolitionist Legal Society, a student organization. “The experience allowed me to meaningfully connect with the Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force and provided opportunities to network and build my current Skadden project,” she said. “In addition, my membership in the International Law Review enabled me to publish a scholarly note on the issue of human trafficking in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, an opportunity I would not have had without participating in the ILR.”

Sarah encourages law students to get some real world experience and hone their interests before coming to law school. “Then I would advise you to come to pursue those passions at MSU Law, a community that will equip and support you fully as you grow,” she said. “Also, take advantage of the global movement and the upward trend at MSU Law by pursuing your legal education here, either through the JD or LLM programs. This is an environment that will allow you to flourish!”
