"MSU Law offers a wide range of opportunities for those who know exactly what kind of law they would like to do, and to those who are trying to find a way.”

Brian C. Pike came to MSU Law via the Legal Education Admission Program (LEAP) at Grand Valley State University. “I liked the academic challenge,” he said. “MSU Law also offers a Big Ten college feel, as well as the rigors of law school. It brings together a wide range of students, which provides a number of opportunities to engage with individuals you may never have met otherwise.”

Brian said he was able to enhance his networking and communication skills through his work on the Negotiation team. “Professor Brian Pappas helped me become a better inter-personal communicator and listener. What I've learned in his programs, teams, and classes helped me in interviews and my personal life,” he said. “Not only does Professor Pappas teach one of the most important skills a lawyer could need, but he also provides meaningful and helpful feedback in any teaching session. This feedback always helps me overcome problem areas.”

Brian also received support from Professor Knake, who helped him secure a paid internship in the United Kingdom. Brian connected with Professor Knake through his involvement in the Reinvent Law program. “Professors Knake and Katz teach some of the most important skills to students entering the legal market in the 21st century: professional awareness regarding the market,” Brian said.

For Brian, going to law school was a tough decision to make. "Fortunately, going to MSU Law makes that decision easier," he said. "MSU Law offers a wide range of opportunities for those who know exactly what kind of law they would like to do, and to those who are trying to find a way.”
