“MSU Law provides an environment of healthy competition. Everyone always strives to do their own personal best, but also very willing to help out classmates in times of need.”

Matthew Russo works as an International Tax Services Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is part of a team of domestically and internationally trained lawyers who provide tax consulting to financial services companies.

“This job allows me to combine my backgrounds in both accounting and law,” Matthew said. “That was my goal when I came to law school, and my position at PwC offers an ideal opportunity.”

Before Matthew was an associate, he interned with Pricewaterhouse during his second year of law school. He also built up his expertise in tax law by participating the Alvin L. Storrs Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic and Corporate Finance with Professor Elliot Spoon. “Those courses provided a strong background I can pull from starting day one on the job,” he said.

Matthew said the competitive but friendly environment distinguished MSU Law from other law schools in the area. “MSU Law provides an environment of healthy competition. Everyone always strives to do their own personal best, but also very willing to help out classmates in times of need,” he said.
