"No other law school with similar rankings offered me the type of scholarship that MSU provided. It is no secret that law school is expensive and MSU Law has given me an opportunity to minimize future debt."

James Stout grew up in a small town of about 2,000 people, where everybody knew everybody. He chose MSU College of Law because no matter where he goes, he knows people will recognize MSU’s brand. “MSU is one of the most well-known and successful universities in the country and being able to have that as an asset after law school was crucial,” he said.

MSU’s offer of financial support was also an important factor in James’s decision. “No other law school with similar rankings offered me the type of scholarship that MSU provided. It is no secret that law school is expensive and MSU Law has given me an opportunity to minimize future debt,” he said.

James also credits the MSU Law website as a huge help in determining what types of opportunities would be available. “There are pages for all the different organizations, clinics, programs, and so on. There really is no mystery as to what you are getting,” he said. “I also researched MSU on the LSAC website to compare MSU to other schools.”

“I had more interaction with the admissions office than anyone,” James said, “and I can honestly say the admissions staff at MSU Law was far and away the best staff I worked with during the application process. I also spoke with a student who was getting a dual JD/MBA. As I am considering taking that route, getting his feedback about the program was very informal and helpful."
