“I immediately felt like I fit in at MSU. I was also very impressed by the law clinics and focus on practice and real world skills offered by MSU Law.”

Nadia Vann has extensive experience as an educator. “I am currently a certified teacher with endorsements in secondary English and Special Education/Learning Disabilities (K-12). I also have full state approval as a Teacher Consultant,” she said. Nadia has worked as a general education and special education teacher in several school districts in Southeast Michigan and she currently works as a Special Education Teacher Consultant.

Now, as a law student, Nadia is interested in family and estate law. “I am particularly interested in wills, trusts, and issues related to guardianship for adults with disabilities once they age out of the public school system,” she said.

Nadia said MSU College of Law's faculty and staff were a big factor in her decision to attend the Law College. “They have been helpful and supportive, even prior to attendance,” she said. “I immediately felt like I fit in at the Law College. I was also very impressed by the law clinics and focus on practice and real world skills offered by MSU Law.”

“As a student who has been out of the classroom for several years, I was grateful for the admission staff’s help navigating back into the academic mode of thinking,” Nadia said. “The communication from the MSU Law staff and students greatly surpassed the other university I was considering. I felt that I could ask anything and receive a knowledgeable answer at any time, about any subject.”

Nadia attended an LSAC forum where she was able to speak one-on-one with admissions staff and gather information about MSU Law. “I also attended an alumni event in the Detroit area. I spoke with an alumnus who lives in my area and checked sources online--blogs, rankings, and so on,” she said. “I was in very close contact with my admissions advisor, who answered all of my questions and was very supportive.”
