“The skills developed in Moot Court and TPI gave me a head start in my career.”

Philip Berens is a member of the Subrogation & Recovery Department where he handles many cases from their inception through their conclusion.

"My work is litigation-intensive. I take depositions, argue motions, negotiate settlements, and mediate and try cases.  My cases involve complex scientific, factual and legal issues, and I find it very rewarding," Philip said.

Philips said his time spent in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute (TPI) and on the Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Board prepared him for a career as a litigator. "The programs introduced students to every step of the litigation process, and the skills developed in Moot Court and TPI gave me a head start in my career," he said.

"Michigan State University College of Law provides a collegial atmosphere," Philip said. "The faculty is impressive and the school continues to accomplish wonderful things. MSU Law's partnership with Michigan State University will help the law school and its students achieve great heights."
