What is your experience with MSU Law?
Experienced professors teach students to view and understand the application of laws from various perspectives. They bridge the divide of knowledge between the experts in their fields and the students sitting before them.

Describe your relationship with fellow classmates and faculty.
I developed friendships with the TAs, gaining the wisdom of those who had just gone through what I was facing on a daily basis. They were mentors full of information to make my life easier.

The reference librarians have also been instrumental in helping me develop strong research skills. They have repeatedly shown me their passion about helping students develop their legal research skills as well as their understanding of numerous legal concepts. They are always willing to help regardless of the task you are facing. You just need to ask!

Describe your experience in the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute (TPI) program.
Because of my experiences with TPI, I was prepared to handle litigation opportunities during my summer internship. When I go to interviews, I discuss the work and practical experiences I have had as a member of the program. I am constantly told how valuable it is to already know how to handle litigation before entering the job.

Tell us about your involvement in the Journal of Business and Securities Law and Women’s Law Caucus. How has participation in these organizations contributed to your education or employment?
My involvement with the Journal of Business and Securities Law opened my eyes to opportunities in business law. This organization is comprised of fun and engaging individuals who are passionate about developing the journal into a nationally recognized publication. We work hard, but also enjoy strong camaraderie by participating in journal activities. Being part of an organization helps the law school experience be enjoyable.

What does the MSU name mean for your legal education and opportunities?
The national recognition of MSU is one of the reasons I came to this law school from another state. I have confidence the Law College will also gain outstanding recognition. I will carry that reputation throughout my career, even outside the state of Michigan.

What is your advice for prospective students?
In many ways, law school is quite difficult to get through, but ultimately it’s an adventure. So no matter how you decide to embark on this journey, make it a good one.
