Message from the Director of Financial Aid

Dear Prospective Student:

MSU Law students finance their law school education with a variety of resources -- personal savings and family assistance, scholarships provided by the College of Law or philanthropic groups, employment, and student loans. I am here as a resource for you in learning more about these sources of aid, and to assist you in navigating the financial aid process.

If you plan to finance law school by relying on educational loans, I urge you to carefully and thoughtfully consider the impact of such debt (undergraduate, graduate, and law school). Take the opportunity at this time to familiarize yourself with salary data for the career(s) you are interested in and to assess the repayment of projected educational debt in light of how much you might earn and other financial goals you may have for the period of repayment.

As you create your own plan for making law school a financial reality, I invite you to view recorded or live webinars hosted by the Law College, consult our website, and to contact me with any questions you may have.

In closing, I look forward to assisting you as you prepare for this next chapter of your professional development.

Sincerely,

John Garcia
