MSU College of Law

Financial Aid

Law Students

Dear Prospective Spartan,

Congratulations on your acceptance to MSU College of Law. It is our expectation that your investment in a legal education will yield a return for decades to come.

MSU Law students finance their law school education with a variety of resources -- personal savings and family assistance, scholarships provided by the College of Law or philanthropic groups, employment, and student loans. I am here as a resource for you in learning more about these sources of aid, and to assist you in navigating the financial aid process.

As you develop your financial plan for law school, I encourage you to carefully determine the amount of total loan assistance you are comfortable with. Examine the costs of borrowing, realistically assess your potential earnings, and consider your other personal and professional goals for the years you will be in repayment.

I invite you to view the our presentations, consult our website, and to contact me with any questions you have. If you would care to schedule a time to speak by phone or in person, please e-mail me. I find that a scheduled meeting -- whether in-person or via phone -- is very productive.

In closing, I look forward to assisting you as you plan for this next chapter of your professional development and I congratulate you again on your acceptance to MSU Law.
