On Thursday, February 28 the 3rd Annual PILS Auction took place at MSU’s Wharton Center for Performing Arts. Guests enjoyed an evening full of auction bidding, fun, and a keynote address from Hon. Amy Ronayne Krause, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge. The fundraising event helps to advance Public Law Interest Society’s twin goals of raising MSU Law’s public interest efforts and increasing the Law College’s reputation across the legal community. The “Bid For Justice” auction raised almost $9,000 for the PILS scholarship fund. To see event photos, visit our facebook page here.

PILS Fellowship:

To help our students serve the Michigan legal community in the public interest sector we've secured the financial support of Langton Law and Miller Johnson as charter members of the Public Interest Fellowship Program. Typically, law students who wish to pursue public interest representation while in law school look to private charities or take out loans in order to cover expenses while providing valuable legal services to the community. Many students who wish to enter the public interest legal field are unable due to financial constraints.

Each firm has generously agreed to provide a $2,500 scholarship to furnish legal assistance at one of the many Michigan legal aid providers. This support will allow two students the financial capability to administer legal services to a population of Michigan residents in need of assistance.

Please join us in thanking Langton Law and Miller Johnson for their support. If your firm is interested in support the Public Interest Fellowship Program, please contact the Office of Advancement at 517-432-6840 or
