Charles E. Langton, ’87
Trustee Langton is president of Langton & Associates, P.C. in Sterling Heights, Michigan. He specializes in a variety of cases, including personal injury, automobile negligence, workers’ compensation, and criminal law.
Langton is best known in metro Detroit as the legal analyst for Fox 2 News and WWJ News radio 950. He has won numerous honors for work in television and radio. Langton is a four-time Emmy award winner, a three time recipient of the Wade H. McCree Jr. award from the State Bar of Michigan for excellence in legal journalism, and a repeat winner from the Michigan Association of Broadcasting. He is a regular guest on a variety of Detroit area radio talk shows, including The Mitch Albom Show, The Dick Purtan Show, and Inside Detroit.
Langton serves as a circuit court facilitator and case evaluator and sits on bar related committees at both state and local levels. He provides expert testimony in legal malpractice cases.
Langton graduated from Kalamazoo College earning an undergraduate degree in theatre and received his Juris Doctor degree from Detroit College of Law. He also was first in his graduating class at the Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. Langton is proud to serve on the MSU Law Board of Trustees.
His wife, Lisa, is the deputy court administrator for Oakland County Circuit Court. They have four teenage children. Charlie and Lisa have an extensive art collection focusing on Michigan artists.
