  • Biography

    Juan Caballero is a Teaching Fellow with the Immigration Law Clinic at Michigan State University College of Law, where he supervises students’ work on immigration cases and co-teaches the accompanying clinical seminar. He joined the clinic in the fall of 2018.

    Prior to joining Michigan State University, Juan worked with the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan as their West Michigan Legal fellow. As a legal fellow, his work included constitutional challenges to mass deportation initiatives by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, legal challenges to prison conditions in county jails, and litigation seeking to enforce the Freedom of Information Act and public access to federal records.

    Juan graduated from New York University School of Law in 2016, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Public Interest Scholar. He received his B.A. in History from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. He is a member of the New York bar and has been admitted to the practice in the U.S. District Court for the Western District Court of Michigan and the Sixth Circuit.
