Corporate and securities attorneys and arbitrators from Michigan and surrounding states are expected to attend the one-day course covering updates from the New York Stock Exchange, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Association of Securities Dealers as well as the Michigan, Indiana and Illinois securities commissions.

This year’s institute is sponsored by the law firms of Alan R. Miller, P.C.; Anthony V. Trogan, P.L.L.C.; Bodman, L.L.P.; Butzel Long, P.C.; Dickinson Wright, P.L.L.C., Hertz, Schram & Saretsky, P.C.; Honigman, Miller, Schwartz & Cohn, L.L.P.; Joseph H. Spiegel, P.C.; Mika, Meyers, Beckett & Jones, P.L.C.; Miller, Canfield, Paddock & Stone, P.L.C.; and Warner, Norcross & Judd, L.L.P.

MSU College of Law was founded as the Detroit College of Law in 1891. To extend its commitment to educational excellence, the college affiliated with MSU in 1995 and moved to MSU’s East Lansing campus in 1997. The move enabled the law college to build state-of-the-art facilities and to provide the benefits of a Big Ten campus.

MSU College of Law strengthened its affiliation with Michigan State University in 2004, becoming more closely aligned academically. The association between the two schools has led to a comprehensive interdisciplinary legal education program at the law college. Today, the college is one of only two private law schools to be affiliated with a research university.

Those interested in attending the 2005 Midwest Securities Law Institute may obtain information and register at or 517/432-6955.
