Tuition and Financing Your Degree

Earning a master’s degree in Global Food Law is a strategic investment in your future. Global Food Law students fund their degrees in numerous ways including personal resources, tuition reimbursement plans, corporate sponsorship and private or public loans.

The current tuition rate is $950 per credit hour regardless of residency status. Most students enroll in 3 credits per semester, but can enroll in a maximum of 6 credits. Students are billed at the beginning of each semester, but payment plans are available. • Financial Aid
  • Students can often qualify for financial aid in the form of student loans. Six credits per semester is considered full time and 3 credits per semester half-time. The College of Law Office of Financial Aid can help navigate your options.
• Sponsored Tuition
  • Our students often tell us that what they learn in class has immediate application to problems they are trying to solve at work. In the longer term, the degree provides them with the knowledge of where to go for information and how to apply legal principles to real world situations. Many of our students become the “go to” resource in their organization for regulatory information and can bridge the gap between product development and regulatory teams.
  • The Global Food Law program benefits your employer almost as much as it does you. We encourage you to ask your employer to invest in your education and explore your options for employer-sponsored tuition support. Schedule a time to talk with your supervisor and human resources department about whether your employer offers any form of tuition support. Students who have prepared for the meeting by making a list of ways the company will benefit from their education and offering examples of how the coursework correlates to their role and the organization’s strategic goals have been successful in securing tuition support. Be prepared to address concerns your employer may have prior to the meeting.
  • It’s not uncommon for employers to offer employees assistance with funding their education. In fact, many of our students, both past and present, are supported through the program by their employers. Next steps are dependent on the type of tuition support students receive. Most employers require documentation that can be accessed through a student’s Student Information System (SIS) account.
