The Lori E. Talsky Center for Human Rights of Women and Children was founded in 2012 thanks to the generosity and inspiration of Lori Talsky, ‘96, and Alan Zekelman. The Talsky Center’s mission is to educate MSU College of Law students, as well as the broader community, about international human rights.
The Talsky Center undertakes cutting-edge research to contribute to human rights research and contributes to legal and policy dialogue to better promote and protect the rights of people in the United States and across the world.

Millions of children around the world are affected by armed conflict. Children are displaced, killed and maimed, subject to sexual violence, and both boys and girls continue to be recruited by armed forces and other armed groups. With partners like the Dallaire Institute for Children, Peace, and Security, the Talsky Center monitors the impact of conflict, undertakes cutting-edge research and advocates to end grave violations committed against children.
