Cats, Cows and State Constitutions

Please join us for the first presentation in the Animal Law Section's Prof. David Favre Lecture Series! 

Professor David Favre recently retired from Michigan State University College of Law. He joined the faculty in 1976, and he is an internationally recognized animal law expert. He has published countless articles and several books on a wide variety of animal law topics. To honor him and his immeasurable contributions to animal law, the Animal Law Section has created a lecture series in his name, and he graciously offered to give the inaugural lecture. 

We welcome you to join us on October 29, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the Castle Boardroom at Michigan State University College of Law or via Zoom for Prof. Favre's presentation titled "Cats, Cows, and State Constitutions" which will focus on amending state constitutions to recognize the presence of animals within the legal system. 

There is no cost to attend, but we ask that you please register. Please note there are separate registrations for in-person and virtual attendance. We hope you will join us!
