WorldCat Discovery

An aggregate collection of databases including Business and Industry, Index to Legal Periodicals & Books, PAISIntl (index of public affairs articles and books), WilsonSelectPlus, WorldCat (catalog of library holdings around the nation and abroad); some full-text articles included. Governing Michigan 

This is the official repository for Michigan state government information, including digitized print materials owned by the Library of Michigan.

Hein Online

This database provides electronic access to pre-1980 law journals, and more. It offers both page images and text files, and includes author and title indexing. Each journal and article has been tagged with its official Bluebook citation. The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible. The license includes the public terminals within the Law Library.

Index to Legal Periodicals & Books Full Text (H.W. Wilson) 

Index to Legal Periodicals and Books Full Text™ is an excellent resource for attorneys, educators, business people, law librarians, students, paralegals and others involved with the law, providing complete coverage of the most important English language legal information, with international coverage of scholarly articles, symposia, jurisdictional surveys, court decisions, legislation, books, book reviews and more. Full text is available for more than 400 periodicals, many of them peer-reviewed, as far back as 1994.

LLMC (Law Library Microform Consortium)

LLMC is a database of global historical, legal, and governmental publications, including both primary and secondary sources. The collection includes federal, state, territorial, foreign, and international materials, along with topical collections such as Early State Records, Indigenous law, Military law, Canon law, and Islamic law, among others. LLMC is especially strong in its holdings from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. LLMC supports advanced full text searching and browsing by title or collection. Materials continue to be digitized and added to the database on a regular basis.

The Making of Modern Law: Legal Treatises, 1800-1920

Full-text access to historical Anglo-American legal treatises "feature[ing] a fully-searchable database of more than 10 million pages and 21,800 titles (more than 25,000 volumes) - all primary source documents." The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible. The license includes the public terminals within the Law Library.

The Making of Modern Law: Trials, 1600-1920

A collection of content describing the courtroom dramas that rocked society in America, England and the British Empire. The texts give insights into familial relations and gender conventions, and may be the best source available for nineteenth-century divorce and marriage. . . . includes unofficially published accounts of trials; official trial documents, briefs and arguments reprinted or bound as separate publications; and official, separately published records of legislative proceedings, administrative proceedings, and arbitrations.” The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible. The license includes the public terminals within the Law Library.

Available from within the Law Library at the public internet terminals; librarians must enter login and password.

National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) 

The National Consumer Law Center (NCLC) is the nation's consumer law expert. NCLC is a non-profit that since 1969 has been dedicated to helping consumers, their advocates, and public policy makers use powerful and complex consumer laws on behalf of low-income and vulnerable Americans seeking economic justice. NCLC consumer law treatises are often referred to as the “bibles of consumer law,” both by consumer attorneys and those representing creditors and merchants. The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible.

NexisUni

This service provides access to over 10,000 news, business and legal resources. Legal resources include major full-text archives of federal and state case law, continuously updated statutes of all 50 states, state and federal regulations and public records from major U.S. states. It also provides access to leading news and business information, including U.S. and international newspapers and newswires. The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible. The license includes the public terminals within the Law Library. Note: MSU also holds a separate license for this product.

ODS (United Nations Online Document Service)

Online access to electronic repository for official documents published by the U.N. Full text, PDF format available. Free access from any internet workstation.

PACER

Online access to federal district, circuit and bankruptcy court filings and dockets. Available from within the Law Library at the public internet terminals; librarians must enter login and password.

ProQuest Congressional

Federal legislative histories & the U.S. Serial Set. The database is available campus-wide, and remote access via proxy server is possible. The license includes the public terminals within the Law Library.

SmartCILP

Weekly email service available to Law College faculty members. Service alerts subscriber to recently published law journal articles pursuant to a personal profile of interests created using a registration form. Contact the Law Reference Desk, reference@law.msu.edu, for authorization code.

SSRN (Social Science Research Network)

Contains abstracts of working papers and articles recently accepted for publication; no restrictions on searching database; some full text documents are freely available, other full text documents are available for a fee. An email "electronic journal" subscription providing abstracts according to a profile of interests is available for Law College faculty. Please contact the Law Reference Desk at reference@law.msu.edu for subscription information.

United Nations Treaty Collection

Collection of treaties and international agreements entered into by members of the U.N. from 1946 forward.
